Got to go out and play with Knuckleheads again… the new boys line this time. I really cannot go on enough about how much I adore their clothes. I mean so much style, detail, friggin awesomeness wrapped up in these teeny tiny packages… Yes, it is on of my weaknesses… and the girls line?? Holy cow, I think it was designed with me in mind. Soooo excited to shoot it :)
And you have to check out this little 6 year old. He was AMAZING on the ramp… seriously.

I got tagged by wrecklessgirl and, well, who can resist that?? so here we go…
Four (4) things I did today…
1- got my butt kicked by my trainer. secretly I love how miserable he forces me to be and how I hate him for this…
2- visited my friend in the hospital… listened to her neurologist use lots of big terms hoping they all meant ‘it’ll be okay’ & stared at her knowing how strong she is but thinking ‘really? we have to prove it like this??’
3- ate my dinner of soup & crackers while reading Jack Kerouac. I really think reading his books make me a little crazy or just point out that I’ve got a whole lot of crazy hidden under it all.
4- sat at my computer, turned off all work related windows, opened my itunes, found all my favorite songs, turned up the speakers as loud as they would go & became a rock star for the time being. And got caught. :D
Four (4) things on my to do list…
1- sell my house. like now. maybe even yesterday…
2- do one thing today (& tomorrow. & the next day. & the next…) to show my kids how I see them so that they can live life knowing how special they are in this world
3- catch up on my email
4- actually put the bills that have been sitting in a nice-neat pile on my counter (& are now late) in the mail
Four (4) of my guiltiest pleasures…
1- shopping: online, in person, by catalog… I’m not picky & I canNOT resist cute clothes.
2- grabbing my kids and going to get coffee/cocoa at the bookstore. they love it/I love it, just makes us all content/happy :)
3- decorating for Christmas. nothing like those twinkly lights & the cozy feeling all that stuff brings to the house.
4- letting my kids sleep in bed with me. listening to them breathe, the smell of their shampooed heads & how, no matter what position they start in, they always end up snuggled up right against me.
Four (4) random facts about me…
1- I lived at the coast through my childhood, on the mountain through high school & I think those lifestyles made a huge impact on my outlook of life today.
2- I don’t look like it but I am a total hippy. I am most comfortable amongst people that smell of patchouli and go barefoot. (I hid bare feet under my wedding dress & wouldn’t have touched a pair of choos or manolos if someone had paid me). that being said, don’t lay a hand on my designer jeans!!
3- I get bored ridiculously easy. which means I am an excellent muti-tasker, super efficient, etc. on the downside, I suck at following through on anything that takes long term commitment/concentration.
4- I dreamt the other night that I went to Justin Timberlake’s loft to work on a project & he tried to make out with me. there were people there so I told him no. ugh… I’m such a fool…
okay, now to pass the torch… these are people that warm my heart to talk to, email with & watch them work their beauty on this world…
Sarah Rhoads: an angelic soul & the perfect concert date
Jamie Sampson: sweeter than honey & a killer story teller
Amy Wenzel: she had me at ‘breakfast at tiffany’s’ & just gets more endearing as i get to know her
Casey & Danielle aka MindCastle: talent oozes out of their pores (kinda gross but cool- haha) & never fail to make me laugh. out loud. and HARD.
lroah: SO enjoyed this about you. :) (10.06.2008 10:57pm)
Sarah Rhoads: Shannon!! :) I found myself smiling throughout this post, you are a gem and I see more and more how similar we are. One day I hope I am half the momma you are. I admire you a lot for the way you love your kids and still find room in your soul to love others as hard as you do. Off to fill out my fun little survey ;) thanks for thinking of me. (10.07.2008 11:29am)
Willow: i didnt know that other people did that with their bills :) now i love you even more! :) head check on JT, buddy. next time, next time :) just go for it! (10.07.2008 03:03pm)
janice: this was totally entertaining. never would have guessed some of this. hippy? after following the dead for five years, i ran so far away from that...but philosophically, those are my people too. :) you're the best. an ever unfolding onion. --janice (10.07.2008 07:31pm)
Wendy and Andrew: Brusseau family, you are beautiful! I didn't know Kelsey and Chloe were actually models! ; ) Andrew says "I like Kelsey's Rock & Roll t-shirt, I want to go to Chloe's house and bring cat food." (actual quote from him) The photographer did a great job of capturing you guys, very natural and fantastic "downtown" scenery. It will be tough to choose, so many wonderful pics.! (10.08.2008 01:27pm)
Jamie Sampson: Oh my goodness! I was tagged by Shannon Sewell! WHOO HOO! I love it. Another mentoring session under my belt. This one was a little different though cause I got to hang out with TWO fabulous photographers! Maggie & Jen took a little road trip to Portland so we could all hang out for the day. The great part is that we had a little guest appearance by Ms Wrecklessgirl herself AND we photographed a local Vancouver photographer’s family. It was like one big party!! :) Thank you guys for coming to see me & hang out for the day. Last month I got to go on a ‘business’ trip to Minneapolis. Yes, it was business. Technically I was hired to come for a shoot of the wonderful Michael B… honestly though, it was so much fun I almost forgot it was business. Not only is Michael an amazing photographer, he is one of the most fun/sweet guys you’ll ever meet (yes girls, he is single… ;) ) He showed me Minneapolis, introduced me to some other fabulous photographers (Sally & Eliesa- Blu’s Girl of the year!) and, well, was just the most awesome host a girl could ask for!
I fell in love with his adorable (SUPER adorable) children. His little girl is honestly the sweetest thing I have ever met and his son is boy through & through and I couldn’t love him more for it!
Without further ado…

Love the family...love the chair...love the locations. And I can back up just how awesome Michael is! I was freezing cold at a WPPI party...and he literally gave me the shirt off his back so I could warm up. Complete gentleman. Again, fun shoot Shannon...fun way to kick off my morning...
