My Chicago trip also brought us a day in Cincinnati. We got to have dinner with the lovely Jessica and her sweet family (You’ll see me soon over at The Define School!) and then I spent the whole next day with Gina and an incredibly talented group of ladies at my last scheduled workshop (woohoo!!) I also got to finally meet Juliet (the talent behind all the lovely hair accessories I use- Maya’s Curls. She OUTDID herself this time!) You would think that would be all the goodness I could take but nope… I got to get these girls in front of my camera too ;)

I just got back from Chicago… spent the days melting at Navy Pier & cooling off at water parks and Lake Michigan (I never expected such beautiful beaches). We even caught a game (& an unexpected outdoor shower) at Wrigley. I was able to squeeze in two commercial shoots with new brands that I am very excited to share (soon!) and last, but definitely not least, I enjoyed the company of 15 amazing woman at a workshop hosted by Gina (thank you SO much!!). We had such a great group of diversely talented women, provoking conversion, deep dish pizza (yum!!) and three cuties all decked out in Maggie Bogart and Peppercorn Kids. Pretty much a perfect way to spend a few days in a new city :)

Our lovely friends, the Solars, came and stayed with us during their epic month long road trip around the US. I have talked about the Solars and their amazing labor of love, The Happy Family Movement, quite a few times on here (and if you haven’t checked it out- their Road Trip in a Box and Adventure Guides are MUST HAVES). What I haven’t done is had the opportunity to do a session with them. I just so happened to have an adorable dress from Maggie Bogart and a box full of new accessories from Peppercorn Kids (can’t wait to share ALL the goodness in upcoming sessions!) so what is a girl to do when there are two cuter than cute little girls under foot? Yep… impromptu backyard photo sessions :)

If I could buy any talent it would definitely be singing/songwriting. I am in love with the notion of writing your story- your feelings- your life into a song that can touch the hearts of so many. One of my most favorite talents is Miss Valeri Lopez (she does it so perfectly). She has the voice of an angel and the music prowess to go with. I am also lucky enough to call her a friend (& my kids’ current music teacher so maybe I am buying that talent) ;) She just released a new album and is getting ready to set out on tour so we did some updated photos.
She’s as pretty as she sounds… ;)
and shhhh… don’t tell children’s photography, but if i was to find another love it would definitely be with musicians and artists. Such amazing souls to capture.
