We just returned from a whirlwind trip through California, Arizona and New Mexico (you can follow most of my adventures on my Instagram- shannonlsewell). I have this incredibly long list of ‘must sees’ so whenever travel is needed I go to my list and try to fit in whatever is within (semi-reasonable) driving distance. After our trip through Arizona and Utah last year (here)… I have been chomping at the bit to get back and explore the things that were out of reach that time. 8 days worth of 5 photo shoots, 24 hours of driving (not including the flight to L.A. to start it all) and a different city every night has left me the most wonderful type of exhausted. We saw amazingly beautiful places (that continue to be on the list cause I have to go back), met wonderful new friends and made the best new memories.
Our first stop on the road was Palm Springs… one of my favorite vacation spots from the pre-kid years ;) I got to meet up with Maranda (who took my Define School class- so great meeting someone in person that you have gotten to know online. Loved her and her fab family.) :) We played around the Ace and a local empty lot (could not get enough of how great her kids are)…

I am so excited that I got to work with this company… boys clothes are hard to find and Wes & Willy has nailed everything that is boy. There are styles for your prep, your little rocker, your jock and everything in between. They use amazing craftsmanship (not only will they withstand the wear of your little man, but his little brothers too). It was the perfect day of great clothes, amazing locations & through-n-through boys (nothin’ better)… You can see this feature (and many more gorgeous ones in the latest issue of Dreamer).

Here is my session in collaboration with Neve and Hawk and Maya’s Curls (along with some shots that didn’t make the magazine). I am not sure I have ever found a children’s brand that was so ‘me’ and I fell so much in love with. It was an absolute pleasure shooting their line…

It feels like summer has barely left us and it is already time to start looking at the holidays! It definitely makes for an easier transition when I have adorable little girls and beautiful holiday dresses to play with though ;) Lillipops Designs has released two new dresses for the holidays and Maya’s Curls created the perfect little hair pieces to coordinate. Could they be more perfect??
